Grand Warriors Academy of Martial Arts achieved a remarkable feat by clinching a total of nine prestigious medals across various categories during the highly competitive 8th UT Pencak Silat Championship 2023-24. This sporting extravaganza drew the participation of over 800 athletes hailing from diverse clubs and educational institutions throughout the region of Jammu and Kashmir. Spanning three action-packed days, the 8th UT Pencak Silat Championship unfolded at the Sheri Kashmir Indoor Stadium in the heart of Srinagar, commencing on the 23rd and concluding on the 25th of September in the year 2023. This enthralling event was meticulously organized under the patronage of the Pencak Silat Association of Jammu and Kashmir, operating under the aegis of the esteemed Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council.

In an exclusive interview, Coach Adil Hussain Khan of Grand Warriors Academy expressed his concerns about the rising issue of drug abuse plaguing the region of Kashmir. He emphasized the critical importance of fostering physical fitness and active participation in daily activities among the youth as a potent antidote to combat this alarming menace.

Mr. Rauf Ahmed, who holds the esteemed position of Secretary at L P School and also serves as the President of Grand Warriors Academy, extended his heartfelt congratulations to Rizwan Mukhtar and Yasoob for their outstanding selection to represent the academy in the upcoming National Championships.

The leadership of the Grand Warriors team was expertly helmed by Shahid Hilal, a dedicated instructor within the academy. The stellar achievements of the academy’s students in the 8th UT Pencak Silat Championship are as follows:

1.         Mohammad Yasoob secured the prestigious Gold medal in the pre-teen category (48kg).

2.         Mir Ammar Mudasir displayed exceptional skill and earned a Silver medal in the preteen category (40-45kg).

3.         Sahil Farooq exhibited remarkable prowess and clinched a Silver medal in the senior category (60kg).

4.         Affan Sadiq demonstrated his mettle and was awarded a Bronze medal in the senior category (60-65kg).

5.         Shakir Hussain showcased his talent, earning a Bronze medal in the senior category (+45kg).

6.         Farzan Bhat exhibited great skill and secured a Bronze medal in the senior category (55kg).

7.         Aneed distinguished himself with a Bronze medal in the senior category (54kg).

8.         Anas displayed commendable performance and was awarded a Bronze medal in the senior category (65kg).

9.         Bilal showcased his talent and earned a Bronze medal in the senior category (50kg).

The Grand Warriors Academy of Martial Arts continues to serve as a beacon of excellence in nurturing and honing the talents of young martial artists, thereby contributing to the overall well-being and success of the youth in the region.
