LG Pushes for Efficiency, Regulation in Real Estate

Srinagar, Sep 25: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday addressed the Governing Council meeting of the All India Forum of Real Estate Regulatory Authorities (AIFORERA), stressing the need for coordinated efforts to strengthen the sector.

In a post on X, the Office of the LG said, “Addressed AIFORERA Governing Council Meeting. Discussed intricacies of Real Estate Sector, its challenges, possibilities & opportunities. Urged that ‘Whole of the Government’ approach is needed for advancing this sector & ensuring accountability in timely project delivery.”

Highlighting the importance of safeguarding consumer interests, the LG underscored the role of transparency and efficiency in shaping a fair real estate environment. “The transparency, accountability, and efficiency brought by RERA Act 2016 must protect homebuyers’ interests and swift grievance redressal mechanism is required to transform this sector into a more regulated and efficient industry,” the post added.
