However, in recent years, there has been a decline in reading habits among young people in Kashmir. There are many factors contributing to the decline in reading habits among young people in Kashmir, including the lack of access to quality literature, the high cost of books, and the prevalence of digital distractions. The lack of emphasis on reading in the education system and the absence of public libraries and bookstores also play a significant role.
To address the issue, there is a need for concerted efforts from the government, educators, and the community to promote reading and provide access to quality literature. Initiatives such as creating school and community libraries, organizing book fairs, and promoting reading clubs can help to cultivate a reading culture among young people in Kashmir.
