JKAACL launches Rafiabad teacher’s poetic collection “Between Echoes and Shadows”

The poetry collection by the young award-winning author Manzoor Akash has been appreciated warmly in the literary circles

Srinagar, April 08:  It takes sweat, determination, and hard work to convert a dream into a reality. This is what a young teacher Manzoor Akash from Rafiabad, Baramulla district, does. Having published his 5th book, “Between Echoes and Shadows” recently, the JKAACL (Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture & Languages) on Saturday organised a book launch program at Tagore Hall, Srinagar where Rafiabad teacher Manzoor Akash’s poetic collection was released which was warmly received in the literary circles. The book, ” Between Echoes and Shadows” is a collection of poems on whispers of the past and cries of the present, offering a profound exploration of finding a tranquil escape from the bustling world and continuous screen staring where feelings are weaved into words.

This book ” Between Echoes and Shadows’ delves into how to discover meaning through hardships and determination in life, offering deep poetical insights into the ethos of time where one strives to achieve new heights.

The author of both the book, Manzoor Akash, told Kashmir Scan that the poetry book will help the readers develop the habit of reflection in a highly enjoyable way and equally wake them up towards some core issues that pertain to all of us in Kashmir.

Written in lucid language, “Between Echoes and Shadows,” is exclusive in its presentation where the narrations are real-life instances in the form of poems, which touch the readers’ heart. Every insight presented in the book teaches us how valuable life is.

“This book will refresh every reader his beautiful past and will enlighten him or her about the social evils that need to be nipped in the bud. My poems are my whispers and cries which I simply didn’t want to remain untold and unwritten . So, I recalled and preserved them in this book. I am sure my book ” Between Echoes and Shadows” will solace readers and create curiosity among readers, at a time when mobile screen donot leave them to think of anything else. It’s not a voluminous book which people usually don’t read. It’s a slim one, of less than hundred pages which one can go through in light manner”, Akash said.

The author hails from a modest background, a family from a small village of Shangergund, Rafiabad of Baramulla district. He is a recipient of many honours and awards including the National Peace Award.

Known as Shakespeare during his university days, Manzoor Akash is the youngest short story writer, poet, teacher and regular columnist whose creativity has propelled him to be an author of 5 books in a very young age. He writes in English and frequently publishes his articles in local dailies. His books, Verses of Heart, Handy Volume, The Legacy of Light, and A Harvest of Reminiscences have made him a youth icon in the society.

Being a culture preservationist, Akash has been writing on Cultural Heritage of Kashmir from last two years which has fetched him the name as ‘Culture Ambassador’ of Kashmir.

Akash’s book ‘Between Echoes and Shadows’, delves into the nuances of reflection and resilience, and is currently the first book on the subject written in English language from Kashmir. The book has been published in India by Suman Publications, Noida, UP with head office in New Delhi. His books are available on marketing sites like Amazon, flipkart, and amazon kindle, etc. Hope the books are found useful in the literary circles of Kashmir.
