CIK Conducts Multi-District Raids Across Kashmir in Terror Case

Srinagar, May 30, 2025: The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday carried out search operations at multiple locations across the Valley in connection with an ongoing terror-related investigation.

According to officials, the searches were conducted in districts including Srinagar, Budgam, Pulwama, Kupwara, and Shopian. The raids were carried out after obtaining search warrants from the Court of Special Judge designated under the NIA Act in Srinagar, in relation to FIR No. 07/2023 under sections 13, 18, 38, 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, read with section 120-B of the Indian Penal Code.

The searches were prompted by the detection of suspicious technical signatures at various sites during the investigation. Authorities said that several individuals were found using an encrypted messaging application allegedly employed by terror operatives and handlers across the border to coordinate recruitment and other activities.

Maintaining the element of surprise, the CIK meticulously planned and executed the raids, leading to the seizure of incriminating digital material, including SIM cards, mobile phones, tablets, and other electronic devices. Officials confirmed that these items are now being analyzed for potential leads in the case.

“The operation aims to gather crucial evidence, curb the misuse of communication tools, and dismantle the terror support network by identifying Over Ground Workers (OGWs) and other terrorist associates,” a senior police officer said. “Legal action will be taken as per the provisions of law.”

Investigations are ongoing and further arrests or seizures may follow based on the forensic analysis of the recovered data.
