Governor approves sacking Drabu from council of ministers

Governor NN Vohra on Monday approved PDP’s proposal of terminating Haseeb Drabu from the council of ministers.

Drabu, finance minister of the state has been sacked by the PDP over his controversial remarks that Kashmir was not a political but a social issue.

Raj Bhavan sources told news GNS that Governor has approved government decision, dropping Drabu from the council of ministers with immediate effect.

At a function in New Delhi Last week, Drabu had made remarks that Jammu and Kashmir should not be seen as a conflict state or a political problem, but as a society with social issues.

On Sunday PDP asked him to clarify his stand completely disagreeing with his views that Kashmir was not a political issue.

Opposition National Conference had also cornered chief minister Mehbooba Mufti asking her to clear the standover Drabu’s remarks. (GNS)
