DySP Sheikh Adil arrested in corruption case: Police

Say 5-member team entrusted with probe, 6 days remand of accused obtained

Srinagar, Sep 21: Srinagar police on Thursday arrested a deputy superintendent of police Sheikh Adil in a corruption case registered at police station Nowgam. DySP Sheikh Adil arrested in corruption case: Police

In a post on X, Srinagar police, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) informed that a 5-member special investigation team headed by SP south City is investigating the matter. 

Police also said that they have obtained 6 days remand of the accused. 

“One DySP of 17th IRP namely Adil Mushtaq arrested in FIR no 149/2023 u/s 7, 7A of Prevention of corruption Act & sections 167, 193,201,210,218,221 of IPC of Nowgam PS. A five member SIT headed by SP South city entrusted with investigation. 6 days police remand of accused obtained,” police said—(KNO)
