Govt Orders Transfers, Postings in Prisons Department

Srinagar, Mar 02: The Jammu and Kashmir Home Department has ordered a series of transfers and postings in the Prisons Department with immediate effect.

 

According to Government Order No. 145-Home of 2026 dated March 02, 2026, issued by the Home Department , Sheikh Zulfkar Azad, presently posted as Superintendent Central Jail Srinagar, has been repatriated to his parent department, J&K Police.

Govt Orders Transfers, Postings in Prisons Department

The order further states that three police officers have been deputed to the J&K Prisons Department. Ch. Iftikhar Ahmed has been posted as Superintendent Jail, District Jail Poonch; Rayaz Iqbal Tantray as Superintendent Jail, District Jail Anantnag; and Aejaz Ahmad Malik as Superintendent Jail, Special Jail Pulwama.

 

Meanwhile, Ms. Saba Shawl has been transferred and posted as Superintendent Jail, Central Jail Srinagar, while Mushtaq Ahmad Malla has been posted as Staff Officer to DGP, Prisons, J&K. Additionally, Sunil Kumar, DySP, has been posted as Superintendent Jail, District Jail Kishtwar.

 

The order has been issued by Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department, by order of the Lieutenant Governor.
