Press Must Prioritize Professionalism, Accuracy: JD DIPR Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 16: Joint Director Department of Information and Public Relations Kashmir, Mohd Aslam on Saturday said that press must prioritize Professionalism and accuracy.

Speaking to Kashmir News Service, Aslam said that National Press Day was observed with the theme “Changing Nature of Press” with focus on the growing role of media and the importance of professionalism in journalism.

He said that authentic and accurate reporting is utmost important as the horizons of the press expand, the information shared must be accurate and responsible.

He also said that the Department of Information is working on policies to enhance professionalism.

“We are trying to ensure that accuracy and authenticity remain at the core of all journalistic practices,” he said. 

Talking about ethics in journalism, he said that the product shared as information must be free from adulteration, ensuring accuracy for all who consume it.

Speaking on the role of social media in today’s world, Aslam said that whatever is being shared must be done with responsibility. “Promoting our culture and values through accurate information is crucial,” he added.
